Golden Hawks Win OUA Title!

Well the Wilfrid Laurier Women's Hockey team won their second straight OUA title on Saturday. So they are headed to the national championship in Montreal. So I'll be traveling with the team, leaving Wednesday morning to photograph the team in action. As I had mentioned to a friend earlier, these trips are like a vacation for me.

So now I have to rush and get ready to travel. Oddly, this will be the second time I have been to Quebec in the last 8 months. Once for Men's Football and now for Women's Hockey. Hopefully we do better than the men did.

Weekend Update.

Well the weekend is here. Nothing like a couple of days off work to make you realize how much housework at home you have been neglecting. Dishes, vacuuming, dusting, laundry etc.

So I have taken my usual stance on these things and finished reading Exile's Valor. Eventually, I will get motivated and get everything ready for me to make a mess of it again. They should add cleaning to that death and taxes bit.

This weekend I will be working on updating the booking and invoicing system I created for Laurier Athletics. I have no idea how programmers manage to keep track of all the coding that they do, but I find it is getting hard on large projects to keep it all in memory.

At least it keeps me occupied.

Midterm Completed & Current Reading

Well I have just recently finished my statistics and probability exam. With completion comes the relief of what has been a fairly stressful build up.

It is unfortunate that education has become learning by rote and not something more practical. I would definitely prefer large and challenging assignments that require lots of time instead of a exam which is more based on trying to get you to quickly memorize as much as possible and the write it down in the space of an hour and half or three hours.

As for relaxing afterwards I had a nice meal at the Smack (McDonald's) and then returned home and started my second book by Mercedes Lackey entitled Exile's Valor. I finished the first book Exile's Honor as part of my procrastination technique.

I the first book was well written with a solid main character. It was the first book I have read by Lackey and I have been generally impressed. She has written a large number of other novels set in the same world. I look forward to exploring that world as well as "finding" another author worth reading.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.

As my title suggests I am an amateur in the ways of blogging and have just recently been looking for an outlet for ideas, thoughts and ranting.

So enjoy what is to come.
